The International Film Festival on Human Rights this human world (thw) will hold the Short Film Competition on Human Rights 2024 under the auspices of the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) Vienna, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Austria and the Chief Executive Office of the City of Vienna for European and International Affairs in cooperation with schools in Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Türkiye.

There was an inspiring and motivating atmosphere within the premises of the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) Vienna when high school students from the HTL Spengergasse, a school for higher technical education, came to the UN in Vienna to play an interactive board game called “World Climate Game”. While playing the participants had the unique opportunity to understand the global consequences of climate change and explore various courses of action at different levels.
Teachers and educators play a crucial role to foster students’ understanding of human rights and sustainable development. More than 80 teachers from Vienna, Burgenland and Lower Austria recently came to the Vienna International Centre (VIC) to take part in a series of teachers workshops to learn more about teaching resources and offers for school classes to engage their students with these topics
