The United Nations Information Service (UNIS) in Vienna is responsible for the development and production of information programmes and activities on the work of the United Nations. It disseminates materials produced by the Department of Public Information (DPI) at the United Nations Headquarters on all topics of the United Nations work programme.

UNIS works closely with local media, governmental and non-governmental organizations and United Nations associations. Public inquiries at UNIS are handled by the reference library.
