Gathering of Slovak UNESCO teachers
Slovak teachers, representatives of UNESCO Associated Schools from about twenty Slovak primary and high schools gathered for two days in the premises of the University Library in Bratislava for their yearly meeting on 9 - 10 December 2013.
Apart from keynote speakers focusing on activities of UNESCO in Slovakia, the experience from the Czech Republic and selected UNESCO monuments, each of Slovak teachers had the opportunity to present their work, initiatives and creative thinking in connection with the UNESCO project during the last year. Jana Hönschová, consultant of UNIS Vienna, contributed with a presentation about the role of UNIS Vienna and its mandate, resources for teachers and invited all of them to take a guided tour at the UN in Vienna. The current Slovak UN Youth Delegate Hana Skljarszka, captured the audience's attention talking about her experience at UN headquarters in New York and follow-up plans in Slovakia.
