Visit the United Nations

The United Nations in the Classroom

The United Nations in Vienna offers a unique initiative called the UN in the Classroom. Viennese Schools, which have not come to visit us, or those wanting to improve their knowledge of the UN, can request to take part. Experienced tour guides will come to your school and explain the work and mandate of the organization and present some lesser known and interesting examples of our work in Vienna. Did you know that close to Vienna there is a nuclear reactor used to help reduce dangerous diseases in Africa? Did you also know that Vienna is a centre of an international monitoring system helping to send out tsunami warnings around the world? You can hear more about these topics and others in our presentation. Students are encouraged to ask questions about the work of the organization.

Schools at Vienna that would like to sign up for this programme should contact us at schulprojekt@unvienna.org at least 2 weeks in advance.
