New Permanent Representative of Bahrain

VIENNA, 30 January (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Yusuf Abdulkarim Mohammed Bucheeri, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Bucheeri has served in various capacities, among them: Director, Legal Department (2002-date); Second Secretary, Office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (1999-2002) and Third Secretary, Legal Department (1994-1999). He was the Chairman of Bahrain's delegation to the working group in charge of the preliminary and detailed feasibility study on the peaceful uses of atomic energy and served as Representative of the delegation of Bahrain to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in New York and Vienna. Since 2002 he has been a Member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Human Rights Committee.
Mr. Bucheeri holds a Doctorate in Public International Law from the University of Edinburgh and is married.
